The Progressive Climate Foundation (PCF) orchestrated a highly impactful workshop on Sustainable Agriculture, Food, and Water at the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Pakistan, drawing over 100 young participants from across the nation. This immersive workshop was meticulously designed to endow future leaders with invaluable expertise in climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable food systems, and pioneering water conservation strategies, laying a robust foundation for a greener, more resilient Pakistan.
Esteemed experts led the sessions, imparting cutting-edge insights and facilitating dynamic, interactive discussions, fostering an atmosphere of shared innovation and intellectual exchange. “Our mission is to empower youth as the vanguards of sustainability in Pakistan,” remarked Hamza Saleem, Vice President of PCF. The session began with Roshni Hadi, HR Secretary of PCF, who delivered an impactful presentation on climate change and its significant impact on younger generations. Emphasizing the urgent need for action, she highlighted the roles youth can play in fostering climate resilience and creating a more sustainable world.
Following her presentation, Rehan Rashid, Social Media Head of PCF, spoke about the organization’s mission, vision, and ongoing projects. He elaborated on how PCF is working at the grassroots level to address climate-related challenges in Pakistan and shared ways in which participants could benefit from joining and supporting the organization.
In an engaging talk on sustainable agriculture and food security, Hamza Masud shed light on practical strategies and innovative practices that can drive sustainable food systems. He underscored the importance of sustainable agriculture in building climate-resilient communities and enhancing food security.
To reinforce these themes, the workshop concluded with a group activity, encouraging participants to brainstorm solutions and strategies for implementing sustainable practices within their communities. This collaborative exercise fostered a sense of shared responsibility and empowered the participants to become advocates for positive environmental change.
The workshop illuminated best practices in sustainable agriculture and food security, underscoring PCF’s dedication to cultivating a climate-conscious generation poised to drive meaningful change. Through such transformative initiatives, PCF is shaping a new cadre of climate advocates, equipped to champion sustainable development and influence progressive climate policies.
